Delta Force Paintball Newcastle NSWNovember 25th, 2023
Delta Force Paintball Australia, the country’s leader in high-octane skirmish action, has officially announced a nationwide transition from traditional .68 caliber paintballs to the more advanced .50 caliber "Low Impact" technology.
This strategic move is designed to enhance the player experience across all skill levels, making the sport more accessible, tactical, and—most importantly—fun.
Why the Change? The Science of "Low Impact"
For years, the .68 caliber ball has been the industry standard, but it often came with a "sting" that intimidated newer players. By switching to .50 caliber, Delta Force is prioritizing a smoother game without sacrificing the thrill of the hunt.

What This Means for Players
Less Ouch, More Action: The lighter rounds mean significantly less bruising and discomfort. This makes the game more inclusive for families, corporate groups, and younger players.
Increased Ammo Capacity: Because the rounds are smaller, players can carry more paint onto the field, allowing for longer rallies and more "suppressive fire" opportunities.
Better Equipment Performance: The new .50 cal markers are lighter and more maneuverable, reducing player fatigue during those intense full-day sessions.
Eco-Friendly Precision: As always, the paint remains 100% biodegradable and non-toxic, ensuring the Australian bush stays as pristine as we found it.
"Our goal has always been to provide the most immersive paintball experience in the world. By moving to .50 caliber, we’re removing the 'fear factor' for beginners while giving our seasoned vets a more precise, tactical tool to dominate the map." — Delta Force Operations Team
Ready to Join The Fun?
The rollout is currently live across all Australian centers. Whether you’re defending the Tomb Raider pyramid or storming the Black Hawk Down extraction point, the new .50 cal era is here to stay.

The NSW Blues Cricket Squad traded their whites and wide brim hats on Thursday
– when they continued their pre-season training at the local paintball field.
The elite cricketers welcomed the idea of mixing up their pre-season schedule and took to paintball with an expected competitive spirit.
“It was great fun” said Test star Trent Copeland. “All the boys had a good crack. I am 6 ft 5 and find it hard to crouch down. So I was definitely the main target out there”
Tropic Thunder was a favourite for the squad with its combative style and 30 ft stone pyramid. A mad dash for the ancient artefact almost came off for the Orange team almost securing the enemy base. Either way they still came away with a hard-fought 47-39 victory over the Blue team and bragging rights until their next visit to Delta Force.
“The NSW Blues Cricket team have been down a few times before. They just love getting out at throwing themselves into the fun of Paintball” said Rebecca Power, Delta Force Operations Manager. “They are a great bunch of lads and we love having them down”.
Delta Force is the world’s largest paintball company having entertained over two million people across eight countries.
Appin is one of ten Delta Force Paintball locations in Australasia and offers five movie-set quality game zones for players 16 years and over.
A morning or afternoon session is available: morning session 10:00 a.m. (arrival) until approximately 13:00 p.m.; afternoon session 13:30 p.m. (arrival) until approximately 16:30 p.m. Upon entry, you will be greeted by our friendly staff, who will check you in. Make sure you have filled out your registration forms online prior to your game day to ensure a smooth check-in. You will be kitted up with all the gear needed for the day and undergo a compulsory safety briefing. For the morning session, the action starts around 11 a.m. You will play up to six varied games during a morning or afternoon session, with short refreshment breaks in between to reload your paintballs and discuss tactics!
As you get kitted up, you will be transformed into a camouflaged stealth army commando, ready to take on any challenge! Drawing inspiration from the MAS*H-themed base camp, you and your team will strategize a way to be victorious on the day.
Before the action begins, all players must undergo an essential health and safety speech detailing the rules and regulations of the day and informing them on how to use their paintball artillery.
You and your team of highly skilled combatants will then proceed through to the gun zone where you’ll be issued with a semi-automatic paintball marker. You can get your eye in for the mission ahead by enjoying a few practice shots at the shooting range.
Once all players have their aim steady and goggles secured, the games begin!
You will encounter up to 6 action-packed games that’ll test the skills of both novice and experienced paintball players alike. With various points being awarded for each game, your team must take all possible chances to capture the ancient artefact from the pyramid in Tomb Raider, and not squander the chance to take out the fuel depot.(Game zones may vary across locations)
When the session’s games are completed, all players return to the base camp to hand in their paintballing equipment, changing back into their civilian status, and prepare for the fun and laughter of the afternoon presentation.
The session’s activities conclude with the awards ceremony, and players can expect to leave Delta Force at approximately 17:00pm. If your group is limited by time constraints then an alternate departure time can be arranged.
