Yes, we do allow walk-on players at our Newcastle centre. If you decide to drop in, we will aim to match you with an existing group so you can get straight into the action.

To avoid disappointment on the day, we suggest:

  • Availability Check: Give our team a quick call on 1300 422 989 before you set off for Newcastle. We can let you know the best arrival times and if there are any private events currently occupying the game zones.

  • Avoid the Wait: On peak days (Saturdays and Sundays), we prioritize players with existing bookings. Calling ahead ensures you aren’t waiting in the base camp for the next available session.

  • MiniBall Note: If you are interested in MiniBall (Ages 8–11, launching Jan 31st), a booking is highly recommended as specialized equipment for this age group is limited.

Newcastle Pro-Tip: Since the Newcastle centre is a destination venue, most players book in advance. A quick phone call before you leave home ensures a session is ready for you when you arrive!

Yes. All players are required to complete an online registration form before they arrive at the centre.

  • Under 16s: Players under 16 must have their form signed by a parent or guardian.

  • Group Tip: We recommend sending the registration link to your entire group with your invitations to ensure a fast check-in.

  • Accessing the Link: Please ask your event coordinator for your unique group link when finalizing your booking.

Newcastle Organiser Tip: We recommend locking in your booking at least 2–3 weeks in advance for weekend dates. Secure the “definites” first to get your foot in the door, then call us to add the “maybes” as they confirm!

At Delta Force Paintball, we cater to groups of all sizes! Whether you are coming alone or bringing a small squad, you can always get in on the action.

Private Game Upgrades

If your group prefers the exclusivity of playing only against each other, we offer Private Game packages. This provides your group with dedicated game zones and your own private marshals to manage your sessions throughout the day.

  • Large Groups (40+): Any group of 40+ prepaid players qualifies for a complimentary private game at no extra cost.

  • Small Group Privacy: For groups smaller than 40 who still desire a private experience, please contact our booking office. Private games for smaller groups under 40 players, incur an additional fee to cover the cost of dedicated staffing and exclusive field use.

  • Centre Discretion: Please note that all private game arrangements are subject to staff availability and the discretion of the Centre Manager.

At Delta Force Paintball, there is no strict minimum or maximum number of players required to book; we welcome everything from solo players to large corporate groups. However, your group size determines how your session is structured:

  • Small Groups & Individuals: Any group size is fine! If you have a small group, we will simply join you with other players of a similar age and ability to ensure a high-energy, competitive atmosphere.

  • Forming Your Own Team: If you bring 20 or more players, you will have enough recruits to form your own dedicated team to play against other groups on the day.

  • Private Game Requirements: To secure an exclusive Private Game (where your group plays alone on the game zones with your own dedicated marshals), a minimum of 40 prepaid players is required.

  • Centre Opening Minimums: While we accept all group sizes, please note that a minimum total number of players across all bookings is required to open the centre on a specific day. If no other groups are booked in for your requested time, our event coordinators will discuss alternative dates or times with you.

Pro-Tip for Organisers: You can make your booking now for the players you have 100% confirmed. You are welcome to add additional players to your booking up until a few days before your event, subject to availability.

While we occasionally accept last-minute bookings, we highly recommend booking at least 10–14 days in advance, especially for Saturdays and Sundays, which frequently sell out.

Yes. We recommend booking for your minimum confirmed players as early as possible. Our Newcastle centre is a premier destination for the Hunter region, and sessions—especially on weekends—fill up quickly.

  • Lock in Your Date: Booking for your core group now ensures you don’t miss out on your preferred date and session time at our Freemans Waterhole location.

  • Add Players Later: You are welcome to add more recruits to your Newcastle booking up until a few days before your event. Simply call our coordination team to check availability, and we will do our best to accommodate the extra players.

  • Stress-Free Planning: Don’t let a few “maybe” responses hold up the entire squad. Locking in the definite players now officially starts the countdown to game day and usually motivates the rest of the group to commit!

Newcastle Organiser Tip: Demand for our immersive game zones is high year-round. We suggest booking for your “definite” players today and then sending a “Final Call” message to the rest of the group once the date is officially locked in.

At Delta Force Paintball Newcastle, the minimum age to participate in standard paintball is 12 years old. This follows the legal requirements set by the NSW Government for paintball activities.

  • Standard Paintball (Ages 12+): All players under the age of 16 must have a parental consent form (online registration) completed prior to arrival at the Newcastle centre.

  • Safety First: Our Newcastle centre uses .50 calibre low-impact paintballs. These are specifically designed to be lighter and more comfortable for younger players and beginners, ensuring a fun, high-action experience for the 12+ age group.

  • NEW: MiniBall (Ages 8–11): Starting February 1st, 2026, Delta Force Newcastle is proud to launch MiniBall! This specially designed version of the game allows children as young as 8 to join the action at Freemans Waterhole in a safe, highly supervised environment.

Newcastle Parent Tip: With the launch of MiniBall, you can now host the ultimate birthday party for kids aged 8–11. It’s the perfect way for younger siblings in the Hunter Valley to finally get off the sidelines and into the game!

We want every “young gun” at our Newcastle centre to have a world-class experience. Here is how we manage player groupings at Freemans Waterhole:

  • Balanced Matchmaking: Our standard practice is to separate children and adult groups to ensure a fair and competitive environment. We make every effort to match your group with other players of a similar age and ability.

  • Legal Age Requirements: Under NSW law, children under 12 cannot participate in standard paintball. To bridge this gap, MiniBall (Ages 8–11) is launching at Newcastle on 31st January 2026! These sessions are conducted in a separate environment with specialized gear, ensuring younger kids play only with their peers.

  • Mixed-Age Exceptions: You may see adults on the field during a youth session if they are parents or guardians participating as part of the same booking. We find that many Newcastle parents love getting in on the action and sharing the adventure with their kids!

  • Professional Marshalling: All games are overseen by our highly trained marshals. They act as active referees to ensure all players—regardless of age—follow safety protocols and that the missions remain fair, safe, and exciting.

Newcastle Organiser Tip: With MiniBall for ages 8–11 officially live from January 31st, these sessions are specifically tailored for younger recruits. It’s the perfect way to ensure your child plays with their friends in a safe, controlled setting using kid-friendly equipment.

Organising a squad shouldn’t feel like a mission in itself. We offer flexible payment options to take the stress out of your planning:

  • Secure the Date: To lock in your preferred game date, the group organiser simply pays the initial deposit or package cost for a minimum number of confirmed players.

  • Individual Payments: You don’t have to be the bank! We can often arrange for individual players to call in and pay for their own packages directly, saving you the hassle of chasing cash.

  • Flexible Management: Whether you prefer a single lump sum or separate payments, our team is here to help. To discuss the best setup for your group, call our national booking office on 1300 422 989 .

  • Add as You Go: Don’t worry if you have latecomers. You can add more players to your booking as they confirm, right up until a few days before the event (subject to availability).

Organiser Tip: We recommend setting an internal “payment deadline” for your friends a few days before our actual deadline. This ensures you aren’t left waiting on anyone when it’s time to finalise the booking!

You can easily purchase extra supplies at our Newcastle base camp kiosk during your event. Our shop is fully stocked with everything you need to maintain your tactical advantage:

  • Group Packages: For the best value, we recommend our specialized upgrade packages. Purchasing your paintballs through these tiered options is significantly more cost-effective than buying individual 100-ball pods, ensuring your squad stays fully loaded for missions like Tomb Raider.

  • Paintball Refills: Individual pods are always available for purchase throughout the day if you just need a quick top-up between missions.

  • Upgraded Gear: You can purchase tactical armoured gloves for added protection and grip. These are yours to keep!

  • Payment Methods: We accept Cash, Debit, and Credit Cards (verified by PIN). Please note: We do not accept cheques.

Newcastle Pro-Tip: To maximize your game time, have your group decide on an upgrade package during check-in. It’s the fastest and most economical way to keep everyone on the field and ready for action.

Paintball usage depends entirely on your playing style. A good rule of thumb for our Newcastle centre is approximately 200 paintballs per game zone. Because every player is different—some prefer tactical sniping while others are more “trigger-happy”—the total amount you use is entirely up to you.

Estimating Your Ammunition Needs

  • Flexible Play: You have the freedom to decide how many game zones you play throughout the day.
  • Pay-As-You-Go: Extra paintballs are always available for purchase at our on-site kiosk during your session, giving you full control over your spending.
  • Group Upgrades: Most squads prefer to purchase Bulk Upgrade Packages rather than individual 100-ball pods. These offer much better value and ensure your whole team is well-stocked for the duration of the session.

Pro-Tip for NSW Players:

To get the most out of your day, we recommend starting with a mid-sized bundle. In our larger, more immersive game zones—like the iconic Tomb Raider (with giant stone pyramids) or the intense  Tropic Thunder—the action gets fast and furious. You definitely won’t want to run out of paint in the middle of a mission!

We know that sometimes recruits go “M.I.A.” at the last minute. To keep things fair for everyone at our Newcastle centre, we have a clear policy for no-shows:

  • Credit for Future Use: If a player misses the session, their payment value (entry, gear, and paintballs) is held as a “Credit Place” on your booking. These prepayments are non-refundable.
  • Non-Transferable on the Day: Paintball allocations for no-shows are strictly non-transferable between players during the session. A no-show player’s paintballs cannot be used or “split” among the other members of your group on that day.
  • Redeeming Your Credit: Your credit is safely stored and can be used for a future booking at Newcastle or any other Delta Force centre in Australia.
  • Our Preparation: Because we prep our gear and marshals at Freemans Waterhole based on your exact booking numbers, we cannot move those resources around once the session has begun.

Newcastle Pro-Tip: If you know your numbers have changed before game day, give us a heads-up! We recommend locking in your “definite” players first and calling the national booking office on 1300 422 989 to add extra players as they confirm.

Yes. Paintball is an all-weather outdoor sport, and sessions at Delta Force Paintball Newcastle proceed in almost all weather conditions. We are fully equipped to ensure your squad has a world-class experience, rain or shine.

Our All-Weather Facilities

  • Sheltered Base Camp: Our Newcastle centre features large undercover areas to keep your group dry and comfortable between missions.
  • Secure Lockers: We provide on-site lockers to ensure your dry clothes and valuables remain protected while you are out on the field.
  • The Tactical Advantage: Many veteran players find that rain adds an extra layer of excitement and tactical challenge to our outdoor game zones. It’s the perfect time to use the Newcastle bushland for extra cover!

Weather & Cancellation Policy:

In the unlikely event that a session cannot proceed due to extreme weather, safety concerns, or “Force Majeure Events” (circumstances beyond reasonable human control), Delta Force Paintball reserves the right to issue a full-value credit for the booking instead of a refund.

  • Safety First: Cancellations only occur if our Centre Manager deems conditions (such as lightning or high winds) unsafe for players or staff.
  • Flexibility: Any issued credit is valid for a future booking date.
  • Transferable: The credit may be used by the original organiser or transferred to another person.

Newcastle Pro-Tip: If rain is forecast, we highly recommend bringing a towel and a spare change of clothes to leave in your car. There’s nothing more satisfying than a dry change of clothes for the journey home after a day of wet-weather warfare!

Yes. Free on-site parking is available, though spaces can be limited during peak periods. We strongly recommend carpooling where possible.

We offer both morning and afternoon sessions at our Newcastle centre to fit your squad’s schedule. Because operating times can vary depending on the season and light conditions in NSW, we recommend checking your specific date with our team.

  • Standard Sessions: Morning sessions generally begin at 10:00 am, with afternoon sessions typically starting at 1:30 pm.

  • Winter Itinerary: To account for shorter days, our winter sessions often shift to a 9:00 am start for mornings and a 12:30 pm start for afternoons.

  • Maximum Daylight: During the winter months, session times may be brought forward slightly to ensure you get the most out of the daylight hours on our outdoor Newcastle fields.

  • Plan Your Trip: Our centre is located at Freemans Waterhole. Depending on whether you are travelling from Newcastle, the Central Coast, or the Hunter Valley, please allow plenty of travel time. Always check your booking confirmation for your specific required arrival time.

  • Contact Us: For the most up-to-date availability and session times for the Newcastle centre, please call our national booking office on 1300 850 744.

Newcastle Organiser Tip: We recommend arriving 15–20 minutes before your scheduled start time. This gives your squad plenty of time to get through registration and gear up so you don’t miss a second of the action!

To ensure your session starts on time, we provide several tools to help you locate our Newcastle entrance easily. Because rural entrances can sometimes be tricky for standard GPS, we recommend the following steps:

  • Search for the Brand Directly: If you are using Google Maps or Apple Maps, searching for “Delta Force Paintball Newcastle” is significantly more accurate than entering a street address alone.

  • Use Your Booking Confirmation: Upon booking, you will receive a confirmation email containing a specific map and directions. We strongly recommend sharing this printable PDF with every driver in your group before you set off.

  • Sat Nav Caution: While GPS is helpful, woodland entrances at Freemans Waterhole can be discreet. Please cross-reference your Sat Nav with our specific directions to ensure you reach the correct gate on Palmers Road.

  • Look for the Signs: Keep an eye out for Delta Force Paintball signage as you approach the turn-off. If you reach the main township of Freemans Waterhole or the M1 interchange, you may have overshot the entrance.

  • Live Support: If you are struggling to find us on the day, please call our national booking office on 1300 422 989. Our team can provide immediate guidance to ensure you reach the car park safely.

Newcastle Organiser Tip: Aim to arrive at least 15–20 minutes before your scheduled arrival time. This allows for unexpected traffic on the M1 or Palmers Road and ensures your group doesn’t miss the compulsory safety briefing!

Yes! Our Newcastle centre provides the perfect “HQ” for your group to refuel and recharge. Whether you are hosting a 12th birthday party or a high-stakes corporate team-building day, here is how to manage your meals:

  • Undercover Base Camp: Relax in our large, sheltered base camp featuring ample picnic-style seating. It’s the ideal spot to gather between missions or celebrate after the final battle.

  • BYO Food & Hydration: We encourage all recruits to bring their own packed lunches and plenty of water. Paintball is high-energy, so staying hydrated is essential for victory!

  • Maximize Your Game Time: We strongly recommend saving your main lunch or “victory feast” for after the games have concluded. Our sessions move quickly, and stopping for a full meal mid-session can cut into your actual playing time. It’s better to fuel up with small snacks during the short breaks and enjoy the big spread once the gear is handed back!
  • On-Site Refreshments: Our kiosk is stocked with cold drinks, chips, and chocolates for those needing a quick energy boost during game breaks.

  • Catering & Delivery:  Delta Force Newcastle does not provide on-site catering or food delivery services ourselves. If you wish to organise an external delivery (like pizza), please ensure you are available to meet the driver at the main entrance.

  • Celebrate with Cake: Birthday groups are more than welcome to bring a cake! The base camp is the perfect place to sing “Happy Birthday” and cut the cake after the games.

Newcastle Organiser Tip: Bringing an “esky” with cold water and sandwiches is the most popular way for our groups to fuel up.

Planning your fuel for a day of action at our Newcastle centre is easy. Here is what you need to know about our on-site facilities:

  • On-Site Kiosk: Our base camp shop is stocked with energy-boosting snacks, including chocolates, chips, and a variety of cold drinks to keep you hydrated between missions.

  • BYO Food & Drink: We highly encourage groups to bring their own lunch and non-alcoholic beverages. Our Newcastle base camp offers plenty of undercover picnic-style seating for your squad to relax and refuel.

  • Maximizing Game Time (Timing): To provide a world-class experience, we keep the games moving with only short “rearm and reload” breaks. We advise all organisers to schedule their group’s lunch for immediately after the session. This keeps your players sharp and ensures you don’t miss out on any of the 6+ game missions available during your time with us.
  • No On-Site Catering: Delta Force Paintball Newcastle does not provide cooked-to-order catering. However, you are welcome to bring portable coolers or hampers with your own supplies.

  • External Delivery: You may organise your own external food delivery (such as pizza) to the centre. Since our Freemans Waterhole location is in a bushland setting, please ensure you provide the driver with clear directions and are ready to meet them at the main entrance.

Newcastle Pro-Tip: Most of our regular players bring a portable cooler with plenty of water, sports drinks, and sandwiches. It’s the most efficient way to ensure your troop stays fueled and ready for the next game zone without having to leave the base camp!

For the best safety and comfort, Delta Force Paintball Newcastle recommends wearing light, layered clothing and sturdy footwear suitable for the rugged bushland. As Australia’s leader in paintball safety, we provide professional-grade protective equipment to every player as standard.

Expert Clothing Recommendations

  • Base Layers: Wear light, breathable “old” clothes—such as a t-shirt and gym shorts or leggings—underneath the combat suit we provide. This prevents overheating while ensuring maximum mobility during high-intensity missions.

  • The Delta Force Combat Suit: Every player is issued a custom-designed, full-length combat suit with a protective padded collar. This is specifically engineered to protect your skin from the elements and paint.

  • Footwear: Sturdy, closed-toe shoes with good tread are essential for our outdoor terrain. We highly recommend hiking boots or old sneakers with ankle support. Note: Sandals, flip-flops, and any open footwear are strictly prohibited.

Essential Gear & Extras

  • Safety Equipment: Your admission includes our industry-leading safety kit: full-head goggles with a wrap-around protection system and custom-designed body armour.

  • Post-Game Comfort: We strongly suggest bringing a towel and a full change of clothes for the journey home. After conquering game zones like Resident Evil or Tropic Thunder, you’ll appreciate fresh clothes for the drive back home.

  • Payment Methods: Our on-site kiosk at the Newcastle centre accepts credit/debit cards and cash for refreshments, extra ammunition, or optional tactical upgrades like armored gloves and groin guards.

Pro-Tip from our Newcastle Centre Manager:

If you are playing during a NSW summer, focus on moisture-wicking fabrics and stay hydrated. For winter sessions, a light hoodie underneath your combat suit provides excellent warmth without restricting your movement when you’re darting between props

Yes, you may bring your own equipment, but strict NSW legal requirements apply:

  • Paintball Markers: You may use your own marker provided you hold a valid NSW Paintball Marker Permit (or equivalent interstate license) and the marker is inspected by our staff. Strictly .50 Calibre only. It must be chronographed to fire below 300 FPS and must be compatible with Delta Force air bottles (We do NOT allow any customers’ own gas cylinders on site for ANY REASON.). The marshals fill the air bottles to 3000 PSI after each double game (about 30 minutes of action). You will have more than enough gas to get you through the games.
The manager will do a quick check on the marker to make sure they satisfy H & S guidelines.

  • Goggles & Suits: You are welcome to use your own paintball-specific goggles and combat suits, provided they pass a safety inspection by our Center Manager on the day.

  • Paintballs: For health, safety, and environmental reasons, only paintballs issued by Delta Force on the day of your event may be used. External paintballs are strictly prohibited.

Important: We operate a strict “No Markers in Base Camp” policy. Your equipment must remain safely racked in our designated gun zone when not in active play. all equipment is subject to the final approval and discretion of the Centre Manager.

No. Only paintballs supplied by Delta Force Paintball Newcastle on the day of your booking are permitted for use on our game zones.

  • Environmental Protection: Our Newcastle centre is located in a beautiful bushland setting. We are committed to using only high-quality, fully biodegradable paintballs that are safe for the local NSW ecosystem.

  • Impact Safety: Our paintballs are stored correctly to ensure they are “frangible” (meaning they break easily on impact). We cannot allow external paintballs, as older or poorly stored paint can harden, posing a safety risk to other players.

  • No “Bring Backs”: Once paintballs leave our care, we can no longer guarantee their safety standards. Therefore, any paint taken off-site cannot be brought back for future use.

Newcastle Pro-Tip: Using our site-issued paintballs means you are using the best calibre for our .50 calibre markers

At Delta Force Paintball Newcastle, your comfort and safety are our highest priorities. While you may feel a slight “sting” similar to a quick flick of a rubber band, our industry-leading safety gear is specifically designed to minimise impact.

To ensure a comfortable experience, we provide all players with:

  • Bespoke Body Armour: Our custom-designed plates protect the torso, significantly reducing the feel of any impact.

  • Full-Body Combat Suits: These thick suits feature integrated padded neck collars for extra protection in sensitive areas.

  • Full-Head Goggle Systems: Our goggles wrap entirely around the head, protecting the ears, temples, and face.

  • Professional Marshalling: Our marshals enforce a “strict distance rule,” ensuring no one is shot from close range.

  • .50 Calibre Technology: By using a smaller, lighter calibre of paintball, we reduce the impact energy by 60% compared to traditional centres.

Pro-Tip for Comfort: We recommend wearing loose, breathable underneath your combat suit. This adds an extra buffer and allows you to move freely. For maximum peace of mind, armoured gloves are also available at our on-site shop to protect your hands.

Yes. Safety is our number one priority at Delta Force Paintball Newcastle. We maintain a 100% safety record through industry-leading protocols at our Freemans Waterhole centre:

  • Full-Head Goggles: We provide a wrap-around goggle system that protects the ears and neck, not just the eyes.
  • Custom Body Armour: All players are issued custom-designed body armour as standard equipment.
  • Expert Supervision: Our professional marshals oversee every mission and ensure all safety rules are followed at all times.
